TELUS and Koodo partnered with Power Shifter to create an innovative browsing platform that empowered independent dealers to easily explore 700+ accessories and create shareable wishlists. The brief.

Closing the gap between dealers and direct accessory sales

TELUS and Koodo, leading mobile service and accessory providers, faced a major sales leakage challenge:

  • Independent dealers were buying accessories from third-party wholesalers instead of directly from TELUS.
  • TELUS lacked an intuitive platform where dealers could browse, research, and wishlist accessories, incentivizing them to shift purchases to TELUS.

Critical requirements included:

  • No new ordering system (TELUS had an existing enterprise system).
  • A standalone browsing experience that worked on all devices.
  • Support for multiple dealer types, brands, and languages — all within one robust platform.

The challenge.

A complex dealer ecosystem with unique needs

Power Shifter discovered key complexities:

  • 3 distinct dealer groups, each requiring custom experiences and branding (TELUS Corporate, Non-corporate, Koodo dealers).
  • Language support for English and French.
  • Secure, portal-based access for non-corporate dealers using TELUS Dealer IDs.
  • A need to support 700+ SKUs across two brands, with advanced sorting and filtering in a mobile-first environment.
  • A wishlist system that supported multiple users per dealer location without duplication or confusion.

Robust Wishlist System for Collaborative Dealer Use

  • Enabled multiple buyers at dealer locations to create, share, and manage centralized wishlists.
  • Prevented duplicate lists and double orders through intelligent user assignment and tracking.

Superior Search, Sort & Filter UX

  • Invested 3+ weeks in UX/UI testing to overcome the complexity of 700+ SKUs in a mobile-first, responsive experience.
  • Created an industry-first sorting and filtering interface that now informs TELUS’s broader e-commerce strategy.
